Numbers were down for cross country at Longreach Rd on Saturday 11th July.
In the 1km event there were just 4 competitors. Luca Sturgiss took the win once again, crossing in 5:58. Ayla Parmenter was second in 7:01 followed by Sophie and Patrick Giumelli, both in 7:58.
Henry Giumelli took the win in the 2km event in 11:16. Peter Dooley was second in 10:32 with Lani Parmenter third in 12:03. Hollie Giumelli was fourth (12:24), Zayne Taylot fifth (8:38), Maddi Wills sixth (12:03) and Grace Parmenter seventh (14:08).
There were eleven contenders in the 3km event. Alex Emmerton was the winner in 16:07 followed closely by brother Ben in 16:48. Lhiam Crook took third place in 15:28 followed by his dad Geoff in 16:21. Mitch Emmerton came in fifth in 17:02 followed by Jack Kinsele with the fastest time of 13:48. Glenn Sansom was seventh in 15:43 and he was followed by Alex Arnold (18:58), Charli Keogh (30:25), William Heffill (20:16) and Andrew Heffill (28:27).
Medium course had a small field of seven runners with Lisa Carroll taking the first place points with a run of 30:40. Matt Reid recorded the fastest time of 19:48 followed by Julia Gove in 31:23. Steve McCullagh was fourth in 26:19 followed by Jaxon Keogh in 31:57, then Paige Connolly-Davies in 28:03 and rounded out by Sam Keogh in 30:23.
The long course trio consisted of Tiffany Knight (45:33), Rebeccca Cooper (53:53) and Scott Johnson (55:59).
With a private access road now impacting the course, this will be the last time Longreach Rd is used this season. The program will be adjusted so that we run at Huskisson for the next two weeks.
