The 2025 Bendigo Bank October Carnival was held on the 12th October 2025 at Myimbarr Community Park in Flinders. The carnival was well attended with over 400 athletes!
Some of our Nowra Athletics Club members were amongst those athletes who took advantage of the opportunity to participate against other like-minded athletes from across the region (junior members are welcome at all the local little athletics gala days/carnivals – there is no need to be a little athletics member for these).

Piper Browne competed in the 11 years events. Piper was 10th in the 100m in 17.13 and 11th in the 200m in 37.04. In the 800m, Piper was 6th with a time of 3.14.16 and in the 80m hurdles, she was 9th in 19.01. Piper jumped 1m for 5th place in high jump and threw the discus 11.11m for 8th place.
Hallie Brown contested the 9 years track and field events. Hallie was 14th in the 100m in 18.86 and 7th in the 200m in 38.06. In the 800m she finished just short of the podium in 4th place in 3.30.72 and was 8th in the 60m hurdles in 12.69. In long jump, Hallie recorded 2.47m for 15th place and in shot put, 3.99m for 11th place.
Amarlie Ward performed well, coming in 2nd in the 13 years 200m, in 30.98 and 2nd again in the 800m in 2.45.62.

Emily tackled an 8-event program, achieving three 1st’s, four 2nd’s and a 3rd place. Emily won the 1500m in 5.34.14 and threw 22.75m for 1st in discus and 22.49m in javelin. Emily was 2nd in shot put (6.74m), long jump (4.28m), triple jump (9.33m) and 100m hurdles (18.70). Emily added a 3rd place for the 60m in a time of 8.95.
Masters athlete Lauren Naylor also joined in the field action and was excited “to throw stuff”. Lauren bagged three gold medals for her efforts – achieving 8.48m in shot, 19.94m in discus and 25.82m for javelin.

In addition, we had several athletes, with a multiclub membership, who represented their little athletics centre at the carnival, including Isabelle and Riley Sandstrom, and Jameson and Xander Day with Shoalhaven Little Athletics Centre, as well as Declan and Hamish Bennett, Braxton and Kadance Naylor, Jasmine Wheeler and Caleb Saunders; all representing St Georges Basin Little Athletics.
Congratulations to everyone who participated with such great performances.
