Week 1 of our 2026-2027 point score competition took place on Wednesday 16th September with some great results from both long-term and new members.
Hugh Bullock was the fastest junior over 400m, clocking 1:15.27. Next fastest was Chelsea Corbridge in 1:21.07 whilst Declan Bennett was just behind in 1:21.38. In the seniors races Bow Mills recorded a quick 1:07.36. Also running well in the men’s event were Matus Kundrant (1:13.05), Tristan Corbridge (1:13.07) and William Heffill (1:15.56). Lana Crawford was the quickest senior female with 1:16.23.
The 100m sprint saw lots of participation and some quick times recorded including Tyler Dixon (13.16), Bow Mills (13.75), Evie Binney (13.88) and Natasha Mandavy (13.98).
In the junior 1000m, the first three runners home were Hugh Bullock (4:28.45), Ari Cisneros (4:32.03) and Reni Oliver (4:35.69). There were some mighty efforts from our smallest participants including Noah Kundrant (6:11.09), Otto Nicholas (6:33.38), Rosie Saviane (6:51.98) and Kayleigh Kingdom (7:36.85).
Declan Bennett won the 3000m in 11:42.47 followed by William Heffill in 12:31.65 and Tristan Corbridge in 13:12.33.
The juniors enjoyed long jump with many athletes exceeding the 3 metre mark including Braxton Naylor (3.88m), Hugh Bullock (3.37m), Jameson Day (3.34m), Chelsea Corbridge (3.30m), Ari Cisneros (3.10m) and Declan Bennett (3.02m).
In the junior boys 1kg shot put, Jameson Day had the biggest throw of 5.89m. Ari Cisneros wasn’t far behind with his throw of 5.76m. Noah Kundrant was 3rd with 4.41m followed by Xander Day (4.09m), Hamish Bennett (3.77m) and Reni Oliver (3.06m). In the junior girls group, Isla Saviane was 1st with 5.15m followed by Lani Parmenter with 3.95m and then Hazel Saviane with 3.18m. Grace Parmenter achieved 2.84m and Rosie Saviane 2.66m. There were also some excellent performances from Koda Oliver (1.92m), Kayleigh Kingdom (1.92m) and Edith Kundrant (1.52m).
The seniors speared some great results in javelin including Hamish McLaren with 47.69m, Tim Musson (36.93m), Kadance Naylor (32.63m) and Scott McLaren (31.02m).
Meanwhile, in the discus circle the biggest distances were recorded by Tim Musson (39.57m), Mark O’Leary (28.90m), Hamish McLaren (23.46m) and Bow Mills (22.98m). Newcomers Ken Stubbs and Tanae Ruttley also performed strongly with 20.36m and 15.51m respectively.
