Cross Country round 10 took place at Huskisson on Saturday 7th June. There were healthy numbers despite the cold and windy conditions and despite many members running at the Willandra Allcomers event instead of the local round.
In the 1km event there were 4 participants with Grace Parmenter taking the win in 7.27 followed by Paige Connolly-Davies in 7.29 then Claire Bozikov in 9.11 and Eden Bozikov in 11.20.
In the 2km event Winter Bell took line honours in 11.40 whilst Mila Bozikov was fastest, finishing 2nd in 10.09. Lani Parmenter was 3rd in 12.12 followed closely by Mark Parmenter in 12.15.
The 3km event had 7 competitors and the Smart siblings fought it out for the win. Tom Smart took the bragging rights in 12.32, beating Evie Smart who crossed in 15.10. Lisa Carroll was 3rd in 18.24, then Charli Keogh was 4th in 24.01 followed by Sam Keogh in 30.39. It was great to see Terry Bailey back in action, finishing in 26.13 in 6th place. Jaxon Keogh was 7th in 28.26 and Chloe Keogh was right on his heels in 8th place in 28.27.
There were 11 athletes in the medium course group. Erin Smart was first home in 21.37 and next was Rod Rose in 28.48 followed by Michael Duncan in 27.21 and then Miller Bell in 30.13. Matt Reid had a good run, clocking the fastest time of 19.56 as he crossed in 7th place with Hamish McLaren right behind him in 20.00.
Long course was won by Martin Bell in 49.59 followed by Elisha Bell in 45.28. Glenn Sansom was 3rd in 52.54 whilst Jasper Arnold in 4th place was the fastest with a time of 44.49. Erich Moeller-Duhme completed the field in 1.03.16.
Meanwhile, over at the Willandra venue, there was a scattering of members across the distances. Will Sproule was 1st in the 1km in 5.15 and Maddison Sandstrom was 21st in the 2km in 10.12.
Finn Goddard had a good run in the 3km clocking 11.04 in 7th place. Emerson Boatswain was 12th in 12.22 and Harrison Turner was 19th in 13.12.
Nowra was well represented in the 4km event with Hugh Thirwall taking the win in 14.14 whilst Scott Armstrong was 3rd in 16.22. Lily Sproule was 4th in 16.37, Lana Crawford 5th in 16.57, Mark Thirwall 6th in 17.26 and Evie Binney was 7th in 17.31. Next home for Nowra was Josie Sproule in 9th in 19.41 and Cathleen Chang was 15th in 21.56.
Angela Bond and Rebecca Cooper crossed the line together in 11th place in the 6km in 36.09.
Harrison Baxter took the win in the 8km race in 28.05 and Gavin Dyball was 5th in 39.20 whilst Leith Babian had a good run over 10kms crossing 2nd in 42.24.
