Runners converged on Longreach Rd on Saturday 14th June for an afternoon of cross country running.
In the 1km event, Will Sproule took the win followed by Ben Sproule then Hewie Sproule whilst Grace Parmenter completed the field.
In the 2km event, it was another member of the Sproule family out in front; this time Josie Sproule in 6.58. Winter Bell was 2nd in 11.09 followed by Lani Parmenter in 12.54 and then Mark Parmenter in 12.05.
There were 9 competitors in the 3km race and it was Lhiam Crook who took the win in 14.50. Dad, Geoff Crook was 2nd in 16.37 and Angela Bond was 3rd in 21.37. Madeline Oke clocked the fastest time of 12.14 as she crossed in 4th place and she was followed by mum Kylie Oke in 16.46. Emerson Boatswain was 6th in 13.19, followed by Lisa Carroll in 18.31 then Peter Dooley in 14.49 and the field was rounded out by Malachy Martin in 23.30.
Medium course was won by Erin Smart in 23.34 from a field of 12. Donna Johnson was 2nd in 44.52 and Paige Connolly-Davies was 3rd in 25.26. Brad Sawyers was fastest over the 5kms clocking 19.36 as he finished 4th. Tom and Dennis Smart had a good battle in the middle of the field with Tom, in 21.20 just edging out Dennis who crossed in 21.23.
Long course had a field of 11 with victory going to Glenn Sansom in 51.20. Rebecca Cooper was 2nd in 52.07 and Perry Strand was 3rd in 45.01. There was another close contest mid-field with Leith Babian running in 5th in the fastest time of 41.07 followed closely by Scott Martin in 6th place in 41.19.
