Nowra Athletics Club was privileged to host Shoalhaven High School for their annual Cross Country Carnival on Friday 24th April 2026.
Students and teachers put the newly designed UOW Shoalhaven Course to the test, with the feedback overwhelmingly; in fact unanimously, positive. Participants praised the course layout, scenic surroundings, and the excellent course marking. The perfect autumn weather, with a mild and sunny 22 degrees, certainly added to the success of the day.
Shoalhaven High School staff ran an efficient and well-organised carnival, while students were exemplary in their behaviour and participation throughout the event.
To conclude the day, a 2km fundraising fun run was held in honour of former Shoalhaven High School student, Harry Scouller. Harry was a talented athlete who competed successfully at both State and National level, and who tragically lost his life to epilepsy. All funds raised will be donated to the Epilepsy Foundation. As Harry was also an active and proud member of Nowra Athletics Club, the club was honoured to contribute $100 to the cause.

Shoalhaven High School Principal, Damian Reece, joined the carnival during the afternoon, enjoying a sausage sandwich while chatting with staff and students. He shared how positive the feedback had been and expressed his enthusiasm to return to the UOW Shoalhaven course again next year.
