This award honours the memory of Neville Markham, an outstanding age-group runner for Nowra Athletics Club throughout the 1980s and 1990s. Neville not only achieved remarkable results on the track and in long-distance events but was also a dedicated contributor to the club community.
The Neville Markham Distance Runner of the Year Award is presented to a club member who has competed across a variety of long-distance events of 8km or more and achieved a notable performance or series of performances during the past season. This award recognises endurance, consistency, and excellence over the longer distances.
