High Achievement Award is for a club athlete who has achieved high results in state, national or international competition throughout the previous year. The award recognizes one or more performances by a club member which are considered to be of significant individual merit.
Nominees can be:
- club members selected to compete at state cross country or track and field events through the education system and achieve excellent results
- club members who compete at individual state championships such as All Schools, Youth, Open, Little Athletics, and Masters events) and are awarded medals
- members who qualify for and compete at Australian Championships
Selection of the winner is at the discretion of the club committee, based on the merit of the athlete’s achievements. Consideration is given not only to the level of competition but also to factors such as the number of competitors, event difficulty, and contextual performance, including national or world rankings. This means the award may not always go to the athlete who competed at the highest level, but to the one whose performance demonstrated outstanding merit.
Below is a list of our award recipients, with the most recent winners at the top. These individuals have set the standard for dedication, sportsmanship, and excellence within our club.
