Stromlo Running Festival took place on the weekend of 15th-16th November 2025, and once again our members showcased their talent, determination and club spirit.
Congratulations to the Emmerton family who ran the 5km event. It was a closely contested family affair with Alex coming in first for the trio in 29:53, placing him 13th from 43 entries in the Under 15 group. Dad Mitch was next home in 30:19, finishing 10th of 28 in the 30–39 age group, followed closely by Benjamin who placed 17th in the Under 15s in 31:34. Great running from everyone!
Glenn Sansom contested the challenging 30km event and finished on the podium in the 60-69 years group with a fantastic 3rd place in 3:13:37.
In the 10km event, Angela Bond ran a PB of 1:00:59 and claimed 3rd place in the 50–59 years group, while hubby John smashed out a massive 10-minute PB finishing in 1:06:36!
Back in Wollongong, Harrison Baxter delivered an impressive top-ten performance in the Gong5000, finishing 9th overall in 15:20 and securing 2nd place in the 16-19 years category. Meanwhile, Lily Sproule was 2nd female in the same age group with 18:44, and Josie Sproule placed 5th in 23:32.
