Tim Musson bettered his own 50–59 years shot put record on 11th February, throwing 12.09m to improve on his previous mark of 9m. In the triple jump, Anne Boatswain leapt 7.01m, surpassing her previous record of 6.60m.
Also trying their hand at the hop, step and jump were Evie Binney (8.58m), Kadance Naylor (8.00m), Emerson Boatswain (7.06m), Andrew Heffill (6.19m), Ellie Cooper (6.01m) and William Heffill (5.44m).
The juniors enjoyed long jump competition. In the Under 6 group, Xander Day jumped 2.36m, sneaking 1cm ahead of Hamish Bennett with 2.35m. Leo Krizanovic recorded 2.27m, Grace Parmenter 1.60m, Rosie Saviane 1.27m, Coco Prayetno 0.95m and Max Saviane 0.73m.
In D grade, Benjamin Emmerton jumped 2.66m, Lani Parmenter 2.50m and Hazel Saviane 2.22m. In C grade, the biggest jump was recorded by Braxton Naylor with 3.08m, while Declan Bennett and Chelsea Corbridge both cleared 2.91m and Isla Saviane jumped 2.80m.
In the hammer circle, Anne Boatswain threw 22.43m. In a friendly mother-daughter battle, Lauren Naylor threw 21.05m, just edging out Kadance Naylor with 21.00m. Kerrie Jones recorded 18.16m and Ellie Cooper threw 17.73m. All-rounder Mitchell Emmerton also gave the hammer a whirl, recording 8.39m.
On the track, Leith Babian kickstarted the program with a win in the 800m in 2:27.56, followed by Will Heffill in 2:49.91 and our visitor Ron in 2:55.36. Heat 2 was taken out by Lily Sproule in 2:38.27, with Josie Sproule 2nd in 2:56.07 and Anne Boatswain 3rd in 3:50.00. The third heat was won by Declan Bennett in 3:14.48, while Chelsea Corbridge was 2nd in 3:24.07 and Benjamin Emmerton 3rd in 3:52.97.
Lily Sproule had a narrow win over Leith Babian in the 200m, clocking 29.71 to Leith’s 29.91, while Evie Binney was 3rd in 31.28. Tristan Corbridge took out heat 2 in 32.04, ahead of Andrew Heffill (34.89) and Mitchell Emmerton (43.08). Declan Bennett won heat 3 in 36.70, with Chelsea Corbridge 2nd (36.97) and Benjamin Emmerton 3rd (40.09). It was a sibling trifecta in heat 4, with Isla Saviane taking the win (42.17), followed by Hazel Saviane (43.56) and Heidi Saviane (43.79). Charlotte Morrison had a strong win in heat 5 in 47.58, followed by Grace Parmenter (56.68) and Rosie Saviane (1:12.08).
From a field of nine, the 2000m was won by Leith Babian in 7:56.96, followed by Will Heffill in 8:36.26 and Declan Bennett in 9:21.98. Coming in 4th was Tristan Corbridge, followed by Andrew Heffill, Benjamin Emmerton, Xander Day, Hazel Saviane and Heidi Saviane.

The Club Pentathlon will be a fun, one-night multi-event competition designed to encourage athletes to step outside their usual comfort zones and try a mix of track and field events in a supportive club environment. Events will include Long Jump, Shot Put, 200m, Discus and 800m. Nowra Athlete’s Foot will have a marquee set up with products for sale and will host interactive games with prizes to be won. We will also have a raffle – $2 per ticket – with 1 x $100 and 2 x $50 vouchers up for grabs.
