The NSWMA Throws Pentathlon State Championships were held at the Kerryn McCann Athletics Centre in Wollongong on Saturday 28th March 2026.
Lauren Naylor, competing in her very first throws pentathlon, contested the Women’s 40–44 age category and came away with an impressive victory. In the 4kg hammer throw, Lauren recorded 19.59m, followed by 8.68m in the 4kg shot put. She achieved 21.13m in the 1kg discus and delivered a standout performance in the 600g javelin, throwing 26.35m; nearly 10 metres further than her closest competitors. Lauren finished with a 7.20m throw in the weight event, bringing her total to 1897 points, ahead of second place on 1856 points
Kerrie Jones also delivered an outstanding performance, competing in her first event since returning from injury. Kerrie claimed victory in the Women’s 70–74 age category with a total of 2278 points. Her results included 18.10m in the 3kg hammer and 5.83m in the 3kg shot put. She recorded 14.65m in the 1kg discus, 11.63m in the 500g javelin, and finished strongly with a 7.97m throw in the weight event.
