The Woden Thunder Athletics Carnival was held on Sunday 22nd February 2026 at Woden Park, providing an excellent opportunity for two of our athletes to test their skills across a range of events.
Kadance Naylor had a particularly successful day. She claimed gold in the 16-17 years shot put with a throw of 10.69m and gold in the javelin with an impressive 37.39m. Kadance also earned silver in the 100m with a time of 14.14 seconds, placed 4th in high jump clearing 1.25m, and secured silver in the open discus with a throw of 29.61m.
Braxton Naylor also had a strong performance. He won silver in the 10-11 years discus with 28.34m and set a new personal best in the 100m, finishing 8th in 15.75 seconds. Braxton then competed up an age group, earning bronze in the 11-12 years javelin with 19.80m and finishing 8th in shot put with 8.24m.
The Naylor siblings demonstrated great skill, determination and sportsmanship throughout the carnival, making the club proud.
