The first weekend in November was a busy one for athletics, with plenty of outstanding performances from Nowra athletes.
The 2025 edition of the NSW 3000m Championships was held at ES Marks Field on 1st November, and several members recorded impressive personal bests across the races.
Harrison Baxter continued his great form with a 15 second PB in the B race, finishing 10th in 8:29.25, while Oliver Baxter was 3rd in the C race with a 12 second PB of 8:34.78.
In the D race, training partners Lana Crawford and Madeline Oke both achieved PBs, with Lana placing 13th in 10:51.60 and Madeline 16th in 10:57.63.

Hamish McLaren contested the G race, taking 3rd in 9:27.86, while eleven-year-old Declan Bennett shaved almost two minutes off his 3000m PB, finishing in 11:38.15 for 27th place in the Community race.
In the field, Ellie Cooper placed 4th in the shot put with a throw of 9.93m.
Meanwhile, at Huskisson, members tested themselves in both fun runs and triathlon events. Nic McGill claimed victory in the 5km fun run, clocking 14:31, while Lily Sproule finished 12th overall, 2nd female, and 1st in the 15–19 years age group in 17:48. Eleven-year-old Finn Goddard mixed it with the ‘big boys’ finishing 8th overall and 2nd in the 12–14 years group with 17:05.
In the 2km fun run, Nowra was well represented. Amarlie Ward impressed with 9th overall out of 374 participants, finishing as the 3rd female from 200 runners in 8:44. Piper Browne was 21st overall and 5th female (9:33), followed by Chelsea Corbridge 14th female (10:14), Hallie Browne 28th (11:37) and Ivie Ward 37th (11:59).
In the 10km race, Matt Reid placed 5th in the 30–39 years group, clocking 42:48, while Dean Bryce also finished 5th in his 50–59 years category with 51:18.
In the Half marathon, Brad Sawyers delivered a fantastic performance to place 2nd overall and 1st in the 30–39 years group, finishing in 1:14.09. John Smith also had a strong run, taking 1st in the 60–69 years group in 1:51.03.
