Anne Boatswain equalled her high jump record on November 12th 2025, once again clearing 1.15m. She was joined at that height by Heath Lee, Piper Browne, Chelsea Corbridge, Merelei Falemoe and Amarlie Ward. Ieremaia Falemoe went even higher, clearing an impressive 1.20m.
In the javelin, there were some outstanding throws. Kadance Naylor launched the spear 30.48m, while Lauren Naylor recorded a strong 23.56m. Other notable performances came from Geoff Crook (25.28m), Caleb Saunders (22.97m), Emerson Boatswain (22.90m) and Anne Boatswain (20.11m).
Our youngest athletes shone in the shot put circle. Xander Day threw 3.31m, followed by Grace Parmenter (2.59m), Rosie Saviane (1.96m) and Kayleigh Kingdom (1.63m). In D Grade, Benjamin Emmerton achieved a big 5.59m, with Cobey Lee close behind on 5.40m.
In the 400m, Amarlie Ward had a solid run, winning her heat in 1:12.05. Gavin Dyball showcased his sprinting prowess, taking the win in his heat in 1:13.23. As always, Erin Smart sprinted strongly to win her heat in 1:02.59, followed by Lana Crawford (1:07.71). In the junior heats, Benjamin Sproule claimed victory in 1:18.79, and 6-year-old Leo Krizanovic showed fantastic sprinting promise, winning his race in 1:45.71.
In the 3000m, Lily Sproule ran superbly, clocking 11:10.09 with some well-timed pacing support. Alex Morrison continued his impressive first season with Nowra Athletics, finishing 2nd in 11:58.52. Will Heffill was 3rd in 12:20.03, closely followed by Amarlie Ward in 12:20.60. Five-year-old Grace Parmenter impressed once again, showing tremendous stamina to finish in 18:18.06, while Zachary Lee triumphantly completed his very first 3000m, crossing the line in 18:25.97.
Although running is an individual sport, it’s always uplifting to see athletes supporting one another. Isabelle Fielding paired up with six-year-old Matilda Norman, encouraging her throughout the 3000m race, and together they finished 16th and 17th.
In the 100m, there were some sharp sprint performances, including Caleb Saunders (12.14), Erin Smart (13.21), Ieremaia Falemoe (14.73), Andrew Lee (14.76) and Alex Morrison (14.80).
Whether breaking records, trying new events, supporting a teammate, or simply giving it your best, every performance contributed to another great night of athletics at Nowra. Keep up the amazing effort, everyone!
