Due to the weather and track problems the graded point score was held over 10 rounds for the track events and 11 rounds for field events this season. Congratulations to the winners of each category. Trophies will be awarded at the Annual Presentation night. This will be held on Saturday 2nd May with the AGM to also be held on this night. Make sure you put this date in your diary. As one season finishes, another starts.
The first cross country run of the season will commence at Willandra on March 21st. Please come along and enjoy cross country running on a picturesque course.
There are five distances offered at this course and the different courses across the area, from 1km, 2km, 3km, long course (which varies from 8km to 12km depending on the course) and medium course (which varies from 4 to 6km). Choose your distance and come running!
Meanwhile, a group of young talented Nowra athletes will be competing at the 2015 Australian Junior Championships this coming week at Sydney Olympic park Athletics Centre. The Championships run from Wednesday 11th March through to Sunday 15th March.
Clare Dobson will be competing in the under 17 steeplechase while brother Hugh Dobson will be competing in the under 16 steeplechase. Also trying their luck in the steeplechase in the under 15 event will be Victoria Kennedy.
Another Nowra brother-sister team will be Jye Edwards who will run in the under 18 800m and 1500m, and Shenay Edwards in the under 16 800m.
Sisters Annette and Samantha Peace will be throwing in the field events. Annette will compete in the under 15 hammer throw and discus while big sister Samantha will compete in the under 18 shot, as well as both the under 18 and under 20 discus.
Also throwing discus will be Siwa Harvey-Aziz in the under 15’s.
Sprinter Zac Havadjia will run against the best in the under 18 200m and 400m while talented Jade Mustapic will run in the under 15 400m and 800m.
Jess O’Donnell will sprint in the under 14 100m, while in the longer events Harry McGill will compete in the under 18 1500m and 3000m and Jake Myors will compete in the under 20 1500m.
Kristin Kalemusic will run in the under 20 800m.
Zachary Jones will compete in a host of events, sure to keep him busy. Zac is entered in 8 events; the under 20 Para 1500m, 800m, 400m, 200m, 100m, shot, discus and long jump
