Our run on Saturday started at Tomerong Community Hall. We had an added incentive for putting our best running foot forward when Dean turned up with some sweet supplies graciously donated by Husky Bakery and Erin showed us her cooking prowess by bringing out a beautiful chocolate cake topped with Maltese’s. All in the name of celebrating 3 birthdays – Terry, Eric and Sky. Thanks guys for the excuse to pig out.
Tomerong is always a tough course. Lots of up hills but the finish is always fast as its all downhill. Sky put this to good use (even though she started out pushing Malachy in the pram), Sky is in good form having recently competed in the Husky Half. The handicapper won’t be so kind to you next week. New runner Sue Anfruns didn’t let the inclines slow her down as she crossed for 2nd (although a good minute behind Sky). Alison Havadjia also had a good run (with the incentive of Ethan being on her heels). Brad Sawyer (who was this weeks back marker starting on 18.50) mowed through the group to cross in 4th. Leith was hot on his heels – talking the whole way.
Next week (even though it’s the long weekend) we will be running from the Showground in Nowra. Remember we all need to register and payment can be made online or on a Wednesday night or Saturday afternoon.
