Round 16 of Nowra Athletics Club cross country took place at the picturesque Timberhills course on Saturday 27th July.
It was another beautiful Winter’s afternoon, perfect for running. In the 1km event Evie Smart was the winner in 4:30, sneaking in just in front of brother Tom Smart who clocked 4:31. Third was Josie Sproule followed by Winter Bell then Malachy Martin, Aiden McLaren and Hugh Sproule.
In the 2km event Division 1 had four participants with a finishing order of Trae Yenne, Lily Sproule, Elsie Proctor and Hannah Vonk. Lily Sproule was the fastest with a time of 8:59. Meanwhile in Division 2 there were another four contenders with Cathy Vonk finishing first followed by Heidi McLaren, Noah Dyball and Miller Bell.
In the 3km event the winner was Toby Dyball in 11:30 with Samuel Vonk in second and Nathan Vonk in third. Division 2 had just three runners with Christine Anderson taking the points for the win in front of Katie Martin and Lachlan Rabey.
Jasper Arnold took out Medium course in the quickest time of 21:00. Peter Dooley ran in second whilst Bradley Sawyers took third. Erin Smart was fourth and Bridget Fairs fifth. In Division 2 Dean Bryce claimed victory whilst Angela Bond was second, Phil Duncan third, Lucy Duncan fourth and Frances Fairs fifth. Division 3 was taken out by Alex Arnold followed by Gavin Urquhart and Lisa Carroll. John Price crossed in fourth place then Alison Havadjia was fifth, Angela Urquhart sixth and Caitlyn Fairs was seventh.
Long course victory was claimed by Richard Bosdyk with Michael Duncan second, however it was Scott Martin in third place who was the fastest in a time of 42:49. Crossing in fourth place was Elisha Bell followed by Perry Strand then Damian Smith. In Division 2 it was Graham Anderson who took the win with Milton Cox second, Rebecca Cooper third, Wayne Williams fourth and Sue Strand fifth.
