Samantha Peace won silver in discus at the NSW Opens Championships, held at SOPAC over the weekend of 18-20th February. Sam started off her competition with a throw of 45.08m, slowly building until her final throw of 47.35m which clinched the NSW silver medal for her. Taking the gold medal for NSW was Sally Shokry from Sutherland with a throw of 49.52m whilst Queensland thrower Jade Lally had the biggest throw of 59.74m.
Also competing at the NSW Championships was former Nowra athlete Cam Musgrove, who contested the 800m. Cam ran in 2nd in his heat in 1.52.35, qualifying for the final from a field of 39. The final proved to be a very tactical race in a deep field and Cam came home 7th in a time of 1.55.64.
