Round 7 of Nowra Athletics Track & Field was held on Wednesday 9th November.
Numbers were down, perhaps due to the inclement weather, but nonetheless those in attendance competed well.
In the C Grade boys Jai Holland won the 60m sprint, followed by Jett Anderson, Scott Delo, William Dyball, Oscar Goley and Sanuda Godakandage.
D grade was won by Lachlan Woods with Toby Dyball second and Liam Johnstone third.
Whilst in E grade Harley Reid beat out brother Kai, followed by Noah Dyball and Tom Smart.
In the girls 60m there were few competitors. Rommey Hazell won the C grade event with Emily Burinaga second and Ella Dyball third. E grade saw Lexie Burinaga take line honours with Lizzy Stiles second, Sophie Braddick third and Evie Smart fourth.
A grade was won by Zac Havadjia in front of Thomas Gibb. Meanwhile B grade was taken out by Brock Nichols and the Veterans race was claimed by Steven Schott.
In the 600m Jai Holland won the combined junior boys race with Byron Osgood second and William Dyball third. Rommey Hazell was the first home for the junior girls with Ella Dyball second and Emily Burinaga third.

For yet another week Eric and Eva Moeller-Duhme set a new record each. Eric clocked 2.14.5 in the 600m for a new 70-79 years record and Eva crossed in 3.07.4 for a new 60-69 years record. Congratulations to this running duo!
In the field the Club welcomed back Samantha Peace after finishing her HSC. Samantha threw 9.31 metres in shot put and Ebony Johnson threw 9.10 metres. In the javelin the girls turned the results around with Ebony throwing 25.90 metres in front of Sam’s 24.90 metres.
Kerrie Jones maintained her record throwing streak with another record in the 60-69 years shot put with a throw of 6.54 metres. Well done again Kerrie!
Jumping well was Brock Nichols with a triple jump distance of 11.85 metres. Not far behind was Jordan deVries who jumped 10.20 metres whilst Corey McConville jumped 9.49 metres and Sarah deVries recorded 9.13 metres.
Brock also cleared the highest mark in high jump with a jump of 5.68 metres. Veteran jumper Steven Schott jumped 5.12 metres and Thomas Gibb cleared the bar at 4.80 metres. Corey McConville leaped to 4.76 metres; Jordan deVries jumped 4.51 metres and all-rounder Sarah deVries jumped 4.47 metres.
Unfortunately the 1500m had to be cancelled due to an approaching electrical storm but the weather did well to hold off until most events were completed.
Hopefully the rain stays away for next Wednesday competition on 16th November to be held at 6pm at Shoalhaven High School. New members always welcome!
Further afield, State Relays will be held on 26th & 27th November at the Blacktown International SportsPark. This event is the premier team based competition in NSW. Clubs form teams in both track and field events in junior, open and masters age groups. If you are interested in being part of the event, talk to Mel Mustapic, Darlene Musgrove or Jan Gibb today!
