Cross Country was held at the beautiful Willandra course on Saturday 14th April for Round 3 of the pointscore competition.
In the 1km event Will Maher was first across the line in 5.33 minutes. Next across was Micah Proctor then Tom Smart followed by Elsie Proctor, Cailyn Burbage, Heidi McLaren and last but certainly not least Aiden McLaren.
Emily McLaren took the points for the win in the 2km event. Tynan Caswell was second and Evie Hill third. Meanwhile Division 2 saw Jasmine Wheeler claim first place followed by Nash Smith and Max Marshall.
In the 3km race Hailey D’Ombrain was the winner with Cooper Barrett second and Reilly Caswell third. In Division 2 Hannah Brian took the win followed by Lincoln Betts and Bridget Fairs.
In the medium course it was Peter Dooley who took line honours in 17.49 minutes. Jasper Arnold crossed next and Paul Duncan was not far behind in third place.
In Division 2 there were just five contenders. Paul Jennings stole the glory with Angela Bond second and Geoff Crook in his 2018 debut run was third. Division 3 was won by Graham Smith with Alex Arnold second and Andrew Havadjia third.
Testing their endurance over 10kms in the long course were 14 athletes. Crossing first for Division 1 was Kieren Harrison. Richard Bosdyk crossed in second place and Brad Sawyers crossed third.
Dean Bryce was the winner in Division 2 beating out Annie Schofield and Sabina Hamaty.
Cross Country Round 4 will be held at Timberhills on the 21st April. There have been some amendments to the course this year at Timberhills so we look forward to the variations.
