Round 18 of cross country competition was held at Worrigee on August 13th.
In the 1km there was just one runner with Lhiam Crook finishing the circuit in 5:51.
The 2km event had 3 competitors with Aidan McLaren crossing first in 13:11 followed by sister Heidi McLaren in 18:04 then rounded out by Malachy Martin in 19:49.
The 3km event had 16 registered athletes plus another 8 unregistered runners. Taking line honours was Peter Raftery in 12:51 with second place going to Geoff Crook with 15:26 followed by Andrew Havadjia in 18:57. Cameron Baxter clocked the fastest time of 11.03 in 11th place. Next fastest was Macarthur Davis with 12:02. Fastest female was a hard fought battle with Katrina Ward taking the title with 12:40, followed closely by Lily Sproule with 12:43 whilst Airlie Stevens clocked 12:53.
Medium course was contested by 12 athletes with Hamish McLaren crossing first in 21:16 which was the fastest time on course. Alison Havadjia worked hard to take 2nd in 34:08 and Alex Arnold took 3rd in 28:32. Angela Urquhart finished 9th as fastest female in a time of 24:11.
Long course had just 5 runners with Graham Anderson taking the win in 48:19. Richard Bosdyk was 2nd in 57:14 followed by Perry Strand in 44:22. Erich Moeller-Duhme was 4th in 59:15 and the field was completed by Dean Bryce with 50:46.
Next week cross country will move to Longreach Rd.
