Worrigee was the venue for Round 17 of the Winter cross country competition on August 6th.
The 2km event had 3 enthusiastic competitors with Malachy Martin taking the win this week in 14:10 followed by Hewie Sproule in 11:48 and then Benjamin Sproule in 14:26.
There were 14 registered runners for the 3km event and it was a female trifecta for top three finishers. Line honours went to Lily Sproule in a time of 12:57. Lana Crawford took 2nd in 12:34 and Elizabeth Davis took 3rd in 14:39.
Fastest over 3kms was Matthew Reid in 6th place with 11:53.
Medium course had just 6 competitors this week with the win going to Angela Bond in 26:29. Running in 2nd was Scott Johnson in 26:03 followed by Alison Havadjia in 34:31. Alex Arnold was 4th in 28:42, Angela Urquhart was 5th in 30:57 and Eva-Maria Moeller-Duhme completed the field in 39:54.
Long course also had minimal numbers with just 5 runners. Rebecca Cooper took the points in 52:54 followed by Erich Moeller-Duhme in 59:02. Scott Martin was 3rd with the fastest time of 40:41 then Dean Bryce was 4th in 50:49 and Perry Strand was 5th in 46:00.
