Cross Country was held at Berry Riding Club on Saturday 20th July. Runners enjoyed this challenging course with its undulations, creek crossings and resident cows!
In the 1km event there were four competitors. Finn Goddard was first in 4:57 with Malachy Martin second then Aiden McLaren third and Eilish Debeck fourth.
In the 2km race it was a family event. First home was Hannah Vonk followed by Samuel Vonk. Next was Oliver Baxter, followed by Harry Thomson, Cameron Baxter then Marcus Baxter however it was Cameron Baxter who clocked the fastest time of 8:33.
In Division 2 it was Ewen Debeck who took the points for the win followed by Scott McLaren then Noah Dyball, Cathy Vonk and Heidi McLaren.
Toby Dyball was the winner of the 3km event whilst Jett Goddard was second and Emily McLaren was third. In fourth was Hamish McLaren who was the fastest, finishing in 12:27.
Division 2 had just three entries with a finishing order of Harriet Urquhart, Jasper Leung and Lachlan Rabey.
Medium course was won by Karly Goddard whilst Lucas Johnson was second and Bradley Sawyers was third. Jasper Arnold ran in fourth and Lachlan Kaszonyi was fifth. Clocking the quickest time over this distance was Bradley Sawyers in 14.13.
In Division 2 Dean Bryce was the winner followed by Lucy Duncan then Phil Duncan and Alastair Urquhart. Meanwhile in Division 3 the victor was Ross Girdler with John Price second and Megan Fitt third.
Long course was taken out by Andy Waller. Running in second was Michael Duncan with Perry Strand third. Next was Scott Johnson then Richard Bosdyk and in sixth was Scott Martin with the quickest time of 37:57.
Division 2 of long course was claimed by Ming Leung. Second was Wayne Williams followed by Rebecca Cooper, Graham Anderson, Milton Cox, Alison Ritchie, Sue Strand and Natasha Toms.
Once again we thank everyone for their hard work to get this new venue included into our cross country program. It is already very popular amongst our runners as it provides a variety of challenges in a beautiful rural setting.
