Round 14 saw Nowra Athletics return to Longreach for the second week running.
Numbers were again low but the enthusiasm was high none-the-less.
The 1km had just three participants with Lexie Burinaga taking the win again this week in front of Noah Dyball and Dean Osgood.
The 2km Division 1 saw 9 competitors battling it out. Toby Dyball took the line honours with James Babian coming in second and Bethany Dobson was third.
Division 2 was won by Harriet Urquhart with Katie Martin second and Harry Thomson third.
William Dyball was the winner of the 3 kilometres event in Division 1 with Alex O’Brien running in second and Jasper Arnold third. Whilst Division 2 saw Thomas Pratt win with Ella Dyball second and Emily Burinaga third.
Medium course was claimed this week by Jon Schol. Cooper Thomson ran hard for second place and Teresha Moxham recorded the fastest female time over this distance with a time of 22.44 minutes; crossing in third place. Meanwhile Stephen Grant crossed in fifth spot and had the fastest male time of 20.22 minutes.
Division 2 winner was Megan Fitt followed by Leah Dobson and Gavin Dyball. Division 3 was contested by just three runners with Alex Arnold claiming first place and Alison Havadjia and Angela Edwards running in second and third.
Long course Division 1 was won by Peter Khourey. Next saw Hugh Dobson beat his mum Kim Dobson to the line in second and third place and Perry Strand was fourth. Jye Edwards crossed in 7th place with the fastest male time of the day in 29.42 minutes; just marginally slower than last week’s record time of 29.40 minutes. Elisha Bell recorded the fastest female time of the day clocking 41.10 minutes.
Division 2 honours were claimed by barefoot runner Kevyn Davis. David Hughes ran in second with the ever-smiling Sky Martin crossing in third place.
Round 15 will be held at Willandra on Saturday 23rd July. Come challenge yourself before the season ends!
