2023 Australian Cross Country Championships took place at Stromlo Forest in Canberra on Saturday 26th August.
Nowra was represented by 5 athletes.
Nicholas McGill topped off a fantastic Winter season of running with 18th place in the men’s Under 16 4km event in a great time of 13:10. What a great run!
Emily McLaren, always a gutsy runner, competed in the women’s Under 16 event and completed the 4kms in 16:42 for 48th place.
Oliver Baxter had a great run in the men’s 16 years and under 6km event finishing 23rd in 20.22. Oliver worked tirelessly for a place on the NSW Team and his 23rd place in Australia was a fantastic result.
Harrison Baxter had a strong start to his 6km race in the 17 years event and despite collapsing before the finish line, somehow managed to finish in 46th place in 21:05 before being taken to hospital via ambulance. Thankfully Harrison was given the all-clear and is hopefully resting up!
Akala Miller pushed hard in the Women’s 3km para Under 20 event and completed the course in 21:42 for 11th place.
Huge congratulations to all these runners who did themselves and the Club proud.
