Bankstown Interclub was held on Saturday 24th October at The Crest Athletic Track. A trio of Nowra athletes made the trek to Bankstown to compete.
In the 800m Erin Smart won her heat, beating home a host of teenage competitors. Erin’s time of 2.23.56 placed her 7th overall.
In the 1500m 12year old Emily McLaren finished 7th in her heat clocking 5:27.92 whilst brother Hamish McLaren tested himself over the Men’s 2000m Steeplechase and finished 5th in 8:00.41.
Multi-talented athletes, these two also competed in the field where Hamish speared 22.73 m for 9th place in the Opens mixed javelin and Emily threw 22.17m for 12th place.
Across at rainy Illawong’s High Velocity Meet Nowra had 4 competitors representing the black and gold. In the 60m Tsar Mandavy ran in 3rd in heat 7, clocking 7.73 whilst brother Brooklyn was equal 2nd in heat 8 with a time of 8.24.
In the 100m sprints Tsar Mandavy ran in 4th in his heat in 12.73. Meanwhile Brooklyn Mandavy won his heat in 13.14 and Asher Chapman finished 7th in the same heat in 13.93.
In the 200m there was a triad of Nowra athletes in the same heat. Reilly Caswell easily won the race in 24.96. Tsar Mandavy was 3rd in 25.40 and Brooklyn Mandavy was 5th in 27.97.
In the field, Tsar Mandavy cleared the bar at 1m60 to finish 9th in high jump.
