There were medals all round for our Nowra athletes competing at the 2017 NSW Masters Championships on 4-5th March.
Taking home a gold medal was Deb Clark in the 50-54 years javelin. Deb started well with a throw of 21.27m to take an early lead. Her next four throws fell short of this mark but she maintained her position nevertheless with her nearest competitor sitting on 21.14 metres. However on her fifth throw Deb sealed the deal and the win by spearing 21.58m. Congratulations to Deb on her gold medal performance.
Lining up in the throwing arena time and time again was Kerrie Jones in the 60-64 years age group.
For her efforts Kerrie scored five medals!
Kerrie won bronze in the shot put with a throw of 6.89m. In discus she threw 15.81m for another bronze and then in hammer; another bronze for her throw of 20.60m.
Then it was time for a change of colour with silver in the javelin with a throw of 14.76m. Finally Kerrie claimed one more silver in the women’s weight throw with a distance of 8.84m.
Congratulations Kerrie – a medal in every event!
