Cross Country Round 4 was held at Longreach on Saturday May 7th.
In the 2km event, there were seven competitors. Eddie Mottram was first in 10:50 followed by Heath Lee in 13:37 then Heidi McLaren in 14:10. Isabella Mitchell was next home in 14:03 then Aidan McLaren was fifth in 15:21 with Koby Lee then Winter Bell rounding out the field.
There were thirty one athletes in the 3km event. Line victory went to Amelia May who crossed in 12:15 and took the title of fastest female. Airlie Stevens was second in 15:07 and Erin Smart was third in 13:14.
Fastest on course was closely battled between brothers with Harrison Baxter taking the honours in 11:18 in tenth place whilst Cameron Baxter clocked 11.52 in fourteenth place.
Medium course was contested by twelve athletes. Dennis Smart took the win in 24:42 whilst Alex Arnold was second in 34:55 and Steven McCullagh was third in 27:33. Oliver Baxter was the fastest , clocking 23:58 and Emily McLaren was fastest female with 28:20 in twelfth place.
Long course saw eight participants stretch their legs over this distance with Elisha Bell, as the only female competitor, taking the win in 48:10. Perry Strand was second in 48:11 and Dean Bryce was third in 52:09. Graham Anderson was fourth followed by Richard Bosdyk then Jasper Arnold and Scott Johnson. Bradley Sawyers crossed in eighth place but was once again the fastest finishing in 38.38.
