The long weekend in June saw cross country contested at Worrigee. In the 2km event there were ten eager participants. Lily De Brett was the winner in this distance with Josie Sproule second and Isobella Mitchell third. Heidi McLaren was fourth followed by Airlie Stevens who was the fastest, completing a lap in 8.35. Finn Goddard was just a smidgen slower with 8.36. Miller Bell, Winter Bell, Malachy Martin and Aidan McLaren rounded out the 2km field.
Will Anderson was the winner of the 3km event with Sky DeBrett second and Noah Dyball third. Jett Goddard was the fastest over 3kms with a time of 12.16. The fastest female was Erin Smart in 13.00 followed closely by Lily Sproule with 13.49 and Paul Duncan in 13.54.
Medium course had the largest number of participants with a field of twenty-three. It was a female triefecta with Annette Sampson taking the win followed by Holly Bond then Sue Strand. John Price had a well deserved fourth place this week but it was Harrison Baxter who, in thirteenth place, had the fastest time of 19.52. Meanwhile Elisha Bell was the quickest female with 22.39.
Long course victor was Perry Strand with Sky Martin second and Graham Anderson third. Scott Martin crossed at the rear of the field but was the quickest athlete with 37.41.
Next week cross country will be at the home-ground of Hollyhill.
