The final walk/run round for the year at the Lady Denman, Huskisson, attracted the most runners so far. The evening was billed as Christmas drinks at Jervis Bay Brewery so this may have had some influence!
2km:
Deb Sansom continued her comeback, running the 2km solo and finishing well; pleased with her effort.
4km:
To strike a balance between running and socialising at JB Brewery, the 5km event was reduced to a sprint of 4 km. A mass start of twenty five runners began with most runners taking a relaxed, very social approach. Local Huskisson runner Liam Dooley however enjoyed the shorter course distance and sprinted home in 14.53. Yes, that’s just under 3.45 km pace. Brad Sawyers cruised on the way out, but ran home hard to take second in 18.05, just in front of Jasper Arnold in 18.07. First female home was Darcy Arnold in 19.19
Our next run in the Walk/Run Socialise Series will be at the University Of Wollongong Shoalhaven Campus on 31st January.
Please note – walkers in the 5km course will now start at 6.20pm. All other runners will begin their handicap starting at the usual 6.30pm
