Kadance Naylor speared a new javelin record in the 14-15 years group on Wednesday 19th February, with her throw of 35.72m. Kadance also had a good throw in hammer with 19.99m, edging out mum Lauren Naylor who threw 19.73m. Anne Boatswain recorded the biggest hammer throw of the night with 20.39m.
In the junior discus circle, Braxton Naylor achieved the biggest distance with 22.00m followed closely by Emerson Boatswain with 21.08m. Jack Saviane threw 13.11m, Jameson Day threw 11.38m and Isla Saviane 11.07m. The youngest throwers gave it their all with Hazel Saviane achieving 6.57m, Rosie Saviane 3.73m and Kayleigh Kingdom 1.71m.
In high jump, Jack Saviane, Braxton Naylor and Emerson Boatswain all cleared the bar at 1.10m. Jameson Day jumped 1m, Isla Saviane 0.85m and Hazel Saviane 0.70m. Over at the long jump pit, Kate Wagner jumped 3.51m and Amy Wagner jumped 3.21m.
On the track, the 1500m was won by Macca Davis in 5.39.10 followed by Madeline Oke in 5.45.68 and Mark Bailie in 6.05.80.
Heat 1 of the 600m was taken out by Emerson Boatswain in 2.07.12 followed by Braxton Naylor in 2.38.07 and then Jameson Day in 2.47.28. Isla Saviane was 4th and Hazel Saviane was 5th. In heat 2 Flynn Kelly took the win in 1.50.21 with Macca Davis 2nd in 1.54.10 and Mark Bailie 3rd in 1.56.11. Kate Wagner was 4th, Nathan Rose 5th and Rod Rose 6th.
In the sprints Flynn Kelly had a great run of 8.63 over 60m. Mark Bailie also had a good run with 8.85 as did Isla Bailie with 8.89.
Track and Field season is drawing to a close. The last night of competition will be March 12th.
