Cross country competition took place at Huskisson on Saturday 22nd July.
The 1 km course had just the one competitor again in Hayley Astin-Briggs who completed the distance in 10:34.
There were 4 competitors in the 2km event, with Ashleigh Astin-Briggs leading the charge home in 13:42 followed by Malachy Martin in 12:50 then Joshua Astin-Briggs in 13:43 and then Winter Bell in 15:55.
In the 3km event there were a large number of visiting and new runners testing the distance. The first 3 runners’ home were all unregistered runners, without handicap times. For competition points, Glenn Sansom was the first registered runner across the line in 16:59 followed by Harry Davis in 17:29 and then Peter Dooley in 14:35. Hugh Thirlwall was 12th across the line but clocked the fastest time of 13:42. Emerson Boatswain and Mikaela Monkerud battled it out for fastest female with Emerson clocking 15.38 and Mikaela 15:46.
Medium course had 19 entrants, and it was Natasha Toms who took the win in 35:28. Oliver Baxter was 2nd in 18:54 and was the fastest on course whilst Katie Martin was 3rd in 31:00. Cameron Baxter was 2nd fastest with a time of 19:14. Lily Sproule and Mia Monkerud had another friendly battle for fastest female time, with Lily clocking 23:21 to edge out Mia Monkerud in 23:39.
Long course winner again this week was Elisha Bell in 45:41. Jasper Arnold was 2nd, and the fastest runner, in 42:29 and Martin Bell was 3rd in 50:38. Julia Mitchell was 4th followed by Rebecca Cooper, Perry Strand, Dean Bryce and then Scott Johnson. Visiting runner Tony Weaver crossed in 9th place and Scott Martin completed the field of 10.
