Cross country was held at Huskisson on Saturday May 6th on a beautiful sunny afternoon.
Hayley Astin-Briggs contested the 1km event, finishing in 8:27. In the 2km distance, Ashleigh Astin-Briggs finished 1st in 14:11. Winter Bell was 2nd in 13:19 and Ezekiel Blinksell was 3rd in 9:38. Joshua Astin-Briggs was next home in 14:05 followed by Malachy Martin in 13:08 and then Hendrix Blinksell with a time of 9:46.
Miller Bell was 1st across the line in the 3km race, crossing in 18:14. Geoff Crook took the 2nd podium place in 17:17 whilst Olivia Oke was 3rd in 16:23. Hugh Thirlwall recorded the fastest time over 3kms, finishing in 12:35. Next fastest was a closely fought battle. Kai Thirlwall clocked 13:18, Lana Crawford 13:35, Matthew Reid clocked 13:41 and Macarthur Davis 13:48.
From a field of 13 runners, Mark Thirlwall was the victor of medium course, clocking 20:22. Sky Martin was 2nd in 34:07 and Annette Sampson was 3rd in 26:03. Hamish McLaren finished 12th but had the fastest time of 19:53. Lily Sproule and Mia Monkerud were fastest female runners, both finishing in the same time of 21:57.
Long course had 11 competitors and was taken out by Elisha Bell in 46:47 whilst Graham Anderson was 2nd in 50:56 and Dean Bryce was 3rd in 48:12. Jasper Arnold was 5th across the line with the quickest time of 43:54.
