Numbers were down for the first night back at track and field but this didn’t mean this wouldn’t be reflected in the results. Andrew Rodda is in great form leading into the Country Championships and he is looking to finesse his form with a run on a synthetic track on Wednesday at Beaton Park in Wollongong. The Norwood family once again showed their bon-a-fides by placing well in all events and in the 1km handicap, (which is again on offer for the Nowra Show), Liam Dooley and Troy Whittington showed what you can do with talent and long legs although they weren’t able to run Mason Keane down before the finish line – Mind you, he won’t ever get a handicap as generous.
Members interested in attending the competition on Wednesday 14th with Athletics Wollongong, are advised of the following events that will be conducted:
TRACK – 60m, 600m and 3000m along with a medley relay 200 x 2 and 400 and 800.
FIELD – Turbo Javelin for Juniors, Hammer Throw for Seniors plus Jumps for Seniors & Juniors.
If you require further information, please check the Wollongong Athletics Website.
Our Club will pay all Nowra members ground entry fees. Please tell the officials that you are with Nowra as you enter through the building. Wear your NAC singlet/crop top if you have one, however this is not compulsory. Please try to be there as close to 6pm as you can.
The Athletics NSW Illawarra Track Classic will also be held at Beaton Park on Saturday evening 17th. January incorporating the NSW 60m and 1 mile championships, it is a good opportunity for our athletes to compete in this fantastic event at a venue close to home.

The Summer Road Run program has recommenced after a short break over the festive season. This week was a pairs run which was side tracked by a thunder storm. Most runners elected to just stretch the legs and no times were taken. Next week we will run at Plantation Point (hopefully, we will get to dip our feet in the Bay to cool down afterwards)
