The final events of the night were the very popular medley relays. In the senior’s race the first runner ran 200m, the second runner ran another 200m whilst the third runner ran 400m and the last runner covered 800m.
In the senior’s race, there were 4 teams who ran off a handicapped start.
Despite the White team having a much delayed handicapped start the two-family combination of Alison Havadjia, Ethan Havadjia, Darlene Musgrove and Cam Musgrove ran in first, well in front of the rest of the field.
Calling the race, Peter Doo
ley particularly commended the speed of Lisa Carroll and Alison Havadjia in their 200m legs; both more accustomed to long distance running but showing great grit and determination as they ran to give their teams as much winning chance as possible.
In the juniors medley relay it was the Blue Team who snatched victory with the brother’s trio of Noah, Toby and William Dyball combined with Scott Delo and Lachlan Woods. They crossed just in front of the Pink team made up of Lexie and Emily Burinaga, Laila Hartnett, Jessie Moffat and Jayla Beresford.
There was no doubt the Relays were the most popular event of the night!
This Wednesday 1st March will be the final night of Track and Field competition for the season. Come along and farewell the season.
