Welcome to everyone who is returning for the Cross Country season and to all our new members.
This week it was a scratch start. For those of you who don’t know better, if you had a good run and made decent time around the deceptively hard picturesque course of Willandra, then be warned, next week you are going to pay dearly in the handicaps. To hear the handicapper describe it, there is a clear formula in place (clear to whom, we intrepid runners haven’t figured out yet). So don’t be disheartened when you turn up at Willandra again next week – just be sure to check the notice board to see how you have fared.
This week we had 194 runners. Many were old die hards back to try and bluff the handicapper (not going to happen – let me tell you). Some were new families or individuals looking for like minded people. We hope you enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and challenge that Willandra offered. The track was in great condition considering all the wet weather we have had. Next time you see Mr Gibb, be sure to let him know that all his hard work is appreciated.
On 3 May 2014 (4 Saturdays away) is the AGM. For most people this is an event to be avoided but the AGM of Nowra Athletics Club (NAC) is not your usual boring evening. The AGM itself only runs for about 20 minutes. Then we are onto the presentation of the past season. Everyone brings a plate and a social gathering caps off the evening.
If you have questions or suggestions we would love to hear from you at next week’s run. See you then.
