Day 3 on the track began with the 200m.
Flynn Kelly contested the under 14 event and ran 26.67 to qualify for the final. In the final Flynn snared the silver medal in 26.81, coming in just behind Mitchell Summers from Rutherford Little Athletics who clocked 26.48. Orlando Bailie also contested the under 14 event and finished 10th in 31.06 whilst Macca Davis was 13th in the same event with 33.61 and Wyatt Binney was 14th with 34.12. Isla Bailie ran 28.82 in the female under 14 race to make the final where she then ran 29.06 for 6th place. Charli Keogh was 18th in the same event in 34.62.
Darcy Binney was 13th in the 11’s race in a time of 35.36 and Charli Binney was 11th in the under 17 race in 33.94. Liam O’Leary contested the under 15 event and made the final with a qualifying time of 30.23. In the final Liam finished 7th in 31.89. Elizabeth Davis was 9th in the under 16 200m, clocking 31.91 and Kai Thirwall was 10th in the 12’s event in 30.93 whilst Mila Bozikov ran 35.33 in the 10’s race for 7th place.
Jonah Watson clocked 23.84 in the under 20 200m, putting him through to the final. It was another close race final where Jonah finished 4th in 23.59, behind 3rd place Cooper Bradley who just pipped him in 23.55. Toby Dyball also competed in the under 20 race and made the final after running 25.08 in the heat. In the final Toby finished 8th in 25.74 whilst Alisha Mustapic was 4th in the female event with 27.86.
Sam Keogh took silver in the 40-49 years race in 28.44 and Matt Watson was 5th in the 40-49 years male race in 38.89 whilst Loretta Norris was 4th in the 30-39 years race, running 30.55.
Next up on the track was the middle-distance events. Evie Binney took the bronze medal in the under 16 800m, finishing in 2.29.74 and Hugh Thirwall took bronze in the under 15 race in 2.18.08. Macca Davis was 5th in the under 14 800m, finishing in 2.31.37 and Kai Thirwall was 6th in the 12’s event in 2.38.03. In the 10’s race Atlas Bailie was 6th with 2.53.05.
In the under 20 event, Hamish McLaren was 9th in 2.11.51 and Emily McLaren, competing for Shoalhaven Little Athletics Centre, took silver in the under 18 event in 2.33.82.
Peter Dooley claimed gold again, this time in the 60-69 years 800m with a time of 2.53.03. Gavin Dyball had a great run in the 50-59 years 800m, taking the silver medal in 2.37.96. Loretta Norris also won silver in the 30-39 years race with 2.40.36. Sam Keogh was 4th in the 40-49 years event in 3.09.66 and in the male event, Matt Watson was 8th in 3.36.44.
In the field, Kadance Naylor speared the gold medal in the under 17 javelin event with her throw of 34.75m whilst Charli Binney narrowly missed out on a medal, finishing 4th with 16.73m.
Hamish McLaren speared the silver medal in the under 20 javelin with a huge effort of 44.99m and Emily McLaren, competing in the Shoalhaven Little Athletics uniform, also took silver in the under 18 javelin with 25.01m.
Lauren Naylor took the silver medal in the 40-49 years javelin, achieving 24.90m and Sam Keogh was 10th with 16.43m. Geoff Crook grabbed bronze in the 60-69 years event, throwing 28.77m and Scott McLaren was 8th in the 50-59 years javelin with a throw of 19.76m.
In shot put, Lauren Naylor was 6th in the 40-49 years group with 8.04m and Sam Keogh was 9th with 7.50m. Loretta Norris was 7th in the 30-39 years event throwing 5.82m and Charli Keogh was 15th in the under 14 shot put with 4.15m.
In addition, Abby and Layla Beck, registered with Nowra Athletics Club, but competing under the banner of Shoalhaven Little Athletics Centre, both medalled in the field. Abby took silver in the 12’s javelin with 20.66m whilst Layla took bronze in the under 15 javelin with 26.62m and was 7th in shot put.
