The Australian Cross Country Championships were held on Saturday 27th August 2022 at Oakbank Racecourse in South Australia.
Nowra had 6 junior members compete at the Championships, bravely battling the course in wet and wild conditions.
Nicholas McGill equalled his cross country PB which was a massive achievement in the conditions, and placed 20th in a time of 14.42 in the U15 4km event.
Amelia May competed in the U17 4km event finishing 49th in 17.51.
All three Baxter brothers had great runs with Cameron placing 40th in the U14 3km event in 10.59, Oliver placing 55th in the U16 4kms race in 15.43 and Harrison finishing 39th in the U17 6km event in 25.52.
Akala Miller, competing in her second National Cross Country event, placed 9th in the Women’s 3km Para U20 event and won a bronze medal in the teams event and a silver medal in the U20 para relay.
Massive congratulations to these young athletes who demonstrated their resilience and determination on a brutal course.
