Cameron Musgrove competed in the opens 800m, finishing 8th in heat 1 whilst Jess O’Donnell competed in both the opens 100m and 200m with sound times against a very competitive field of athletes. Well done to these athletes competing in the Nowra colours!
At home, on a local level, there were another two records re-set last Wednesday. Samantha Peace re-set her discus record from the previous week with a throw of 43 metres, whilst Tim Musson also bettered his previous record with a throw of 36.37 metres. Well done to these two throwers, improving their distance each week.
Also throwing well in the field events were Zac Jones, Doug McNally and Brad Farn.
In the long jump pit Brad Farn recorded the longest distance with a jump of 4.63 metres. Sarah deVries jumped 4.26 metres, closely followed by brother Jordan with 4.25 metres.
Zac Havadjia, Blake Hartnett and Corey McConville were the only keen A grade sprinters but the younger athletes had stronger numbers with Matthew Higham, Lucas Johnson, Wil Osgood, Byron Osgood, Koby Kennedy, Oscar Goley, Jake and James Babian all sprinting hard in both the 60 metre and 200 metre events.
Keeping it a family affair in the girls groups we had Zoe and Lacey Baker, Claire and Zoe Musson, and Taylor and Allie Moffat contesting the sprints and throws.
