Congratulations to our members who competed in the Kiama Coastal Classic on June 26th. This was a challenging but picturesque course, starting at Gerringong SLSC and ending at Kiama SLSC. Perhaps the epic views made the kilometres seem easier – our local athletes certainly excelled on this course.
In the 12kms event, Erich Moeller-Duhme took gold in the 70+ age group in a time of 1:18:33 whilst Eva Moeller-Duhme took silver in 1:50:16.
Elisha Bell took gold in the 40-49 years category in 1:02:24 and Angela Bond was 5th in the 50-59 years group in 1:25:57.
Did you run too? Let us know if you did.
In other running news, Geoff Crook competed in the 10km race in The Cooks River Fun Run on Sunday 19 June 2022. This run traversed the Bay to Bay cycleway from Freshwater Park to Ford Park in Strathfield, and supported Bowel Cancer Australia. Geoff crossed in 1:01:54 and was 8th in the 55+ category. Darlene Musgrove also competed and was 29th in the 40-54 age group with a time of 1:09:11.
The 10km event had a field of 151 athletes and was actually won by former Nowra Club member, Cam Musgrove who crossed the finish line in 34:26.
Well done to all these runners!
