Cross Country kicked off at Hollyhill on Easter Saturday on March 30th. It was an unseasonably hot afternoon which caused both runners and the Easter eggs to melt in the heat!
In the 1km event there were just 2 competitors, mother and daughter duo, Aurora Boatswain and Anne Boatswain.
In the 2km event, Mila Bozikov was first home in 11:06 followed by Darcy Binney in 11:28 and then Malachy Martin in 12:54. Phoebe Armstrong was 4th in 13:10, accompanied by dad Scott Armstrong who crossed behind her in 13:12.
The 3km event was jointly won by Evie Binney, and her brother Wyatt Binney, both crossing in 18:57. Evie Smart was 3rd in 19:22 whilst there was some confusion for competitors Tom Smart, Thor Jackson and Emerson Boatswain who took a wrong turn and ran an abbreviated version of the course.Medium Course was closely contested at the front with Dennis Smart taking the win in 23:27 followed by Matthew Reid in 23:37 then Peter Dooley in 24:44.
