AACT Summer Series Meet No 9 was held at Woden Park on 17 December 2022. A contingency of Nowra athletes made the trek to Canberra to compete.
In the 60m, Max Marshall finished 2nd in his heat in 7.41 and Jonah Watson was 7th in 7.94. Matt Reid took out his heat in 7.80 followed by Tom Brookes in 8.00 whilst Asher Chapman was 7th in 8.40. In her heat, Alisha Mustapic was 2nd in 8.65.
In the 100m, Max Marshall clocked 11.77 for 3rd place. In heat 3, Matt Reid was 1st in 12.50, with Tom Brookes 2nd in 12.81 and Jonah Watson 3rd in 12.87. In heat 5 Alisha Mustapic was 6th in 13.70 and in heat 6 Asher Chapman was 2nd in 13.22.
Backing up in the 200m, Max Marshall was 3rd in his heat in 23.78, whilst Matt Reid was 6th in 24.88 and Jonah Watson was 7th in 25.47. In heat 4, Alisha Mustapic was 6th in 29.05 and in heat 5, Tom Brookes took the win in 25.77 while Asher Chapman was 4th in 27.73.
Not done there, 4 of the sprinters also contested the 400m. Matt Reid was 4th in 56.52 and Tom Brookes was 5th in 59.69. In heat 2, Asher Chapman was 5th in 1.05.73 and in heat 4, Alisha Mustapic was 4th in 1.10.29.
In the field, Asher Chapman took the win in the 11-13 years high jump, clearing the bar at 1.50m.
Back on the track, in the distance events, Harrison Baxter took out the 16-17 years 3000m, crossing in 9.42.93. In the 2000m steeplechase Emily McLaren smashed it out for the win in 7.47.15, whilst in the men’s race, Harrison Baxter took the win in 6.37.86 and Hamish McLaren was 2nd in 7.02.51.
