Round 16 of cross country was held at Hollyhill on July 31st with good numbers on a very warm Winter’s afternoon.
There were eleven competitors in the 2km event and line honours went to Heidi McLaren whilst Randira DeSilva was second. A very quick Finn Goddard was third in 8.51 and mum Karly Goddard wasn’t far behind in fourth with 9.52. Lana Crawford was seventh but clocked the fastest female time of 9.00.
in the 3km event there were twenty contenders and it was Jason Hehir who took the win. William Anderson was second and Emily McLaren was third with the fastest female time of 15.03. Cameron Baxter was seventh and clocked the fastest time of 13.54 whilst Jett Goddard was next quickest in 14.18.
Medium course was won by Liam Dasila-Hicks with Alex Arnold taking second place and Angela Bond taking third. Harrison Baxter finished in tenth place in the fastest time of 20.00 whilst Elisha Bell was fastest female in twelfth place in 22.32.
Long course saw Natasha Toms take the win followed by Dan O’Connor and Rob Woods. Scott Martin was once again the quickest on course, crossing eighth in 39.35. Next fastest was Jasper Arnold with 42.56 in eleventh place. This week Sabina Hamaty clocked the fastest female time of 53.14, finishing in ninth place and Rebecca Cooper was next home in 55.28.
We have almost finished the pointscore competition for the season with just two more rounds remaining. Next week, August 7th, will be at Worrigee for Round 17 and then we will complete the points rounds at Berry on August 14.
Our Cross Country Presentations will then be held on August 28th at Hollyhill (with more details to follow later) and we will have our Cross Country Championships at Hollyhill on Saturday August 21, so there’s some exciting events to come.
