In the meantime, come along and join in the cross country program on Saturday afternoon’s. We will kick off on Saturday 29th March with a run at University Of Wollongong (UOW) Shoalhaven campus. This will be a mass start. Arrive for 2pm start.
If you haven’t yet heard, the UOW is Nowra Athletics Club’s new home of cross country running!
The Nowra Athletics Club committee is very excited to announce that we have signed a lease agreement with UOW Shoalhaven Campus. We thank Chris Hadley, Campus Manager, for his cooperation and efforts in working with our Club to make this happen. The lease agreement allows us to develop a running course at the campus and gives us access to facilities that include toilets (including disabled), showers, BBQ area and a meeting area with a kitchen and TV that will allow a gallery of photos to be displayed at selected times.
Last year runners had a taste of the proposed course and the feedback was positive. Feedback from the day informed us of changes we could make to the course to improve the runners’ experience. Members of the committee have been working hard to incorporate these changes. Recently we were informed that a grant application to support the development of the course was successful. This will help us immensely with our goals to make the course one that all runners will enjoy.
The full cross country program will be released in the coming weeks.
