Nowra’s Winter Cross Country Winter competition concluded on 20th August. The final point score has been tallied. Congratulations to the winners, and to all the competitors. Thank you for a great season of running.
In the 1km event, Lhiam Crook was the winner with 295 points. The only other registered competitors in the 2km over the season were Evie Smart and Heath lee, who both competed in one run over this distance.
In the 2km event, Aidan McLaren took the win with 673 points. Malachy Martin came in 2nd with 623 points and 3rd overall was Heidi McLaren with 606 points. Isabella Mitchell was the 2nd top scoring female runner with 425 points and Winter Bell earned 238 points. Jack Kinsele was the 3rd highest scoring male with 384 points.
The 3km event was hotly contested. Taking the overall win was Andrew Havadjia with 669 points followed by Airlie Stevens with 634 points then in 3rd place was Matt Reid with 606 points. Emma Stevens was 2nd behind daughter Airlie in the female rankings with 541 points and Zoe Musson was 3rd with 478 points whilst Tim Musson was 3rd in the male rankings with 514 points.
Medium course saw brother and sister duo battling it out for the top title. Hamish and Emily McLaren both won their respective gender division however it was Hamish McLaren who accumulated the most points to take the overall win with 599 points. Alex Arnold was next on the points ladder with 593 points whilst Emily McLaren was 3rd overall with 541 points. Angela Urquhart scored 513 points, Eva Moeller-Duhme collected 454 points and Gavin Dyball racked up 446 points.
Dean Bryce was the clear winner of long course with 710 points. Perry Strand was 2nd with 561 points and Richard Bosdyk was 3rd with 555 points. Rebecca Cooper took the top points for the females in long course, earning 512 points. Elisha Bell was next on the ladder with 186 points. Natasha Toms finished 2 runs for 89 points as did Angela Bond for 88 points whilst Sky Martin competed just once for 45 points.
Cross country season finished with a fun – and muddy – afternoon at Hollyhill on Saturday August 27th. The relays were the highlight! Thank you to the Havadjia family for hosting and organising the event.
