2022 NSW Short Course Cross Country Championships were held in Bathurst on 7th August. Nowra had 14 representatives at the Championships.
Completing the 1.6km hot lap challenge was Lhiam Crook who was 10th in 10.45, with dad Geoff Crook following on his heels in 11th in 10.49.
Noah Dyball was 6th in the 3km Fun Run in a time of 12.17.36.
In the 15 years and under 3kms event Emily McLaren was 16th in 14.09 whilst Amelia May was 7th in the 16-17 years category with a time of 13.24.
In the 18-19 years category of the 4.5km event Ella Dyball was 7th in 23.24 whilst Harrison Baxter was 5th in the 17 years and under with 17.33.
In the boys 15 years and under 3km event, Nowra had 5 competitors. First home for Nowra was Nic McGill in 4th place in 11.47. Next home was Cameron Baxter in 6th place in 11.59 whilst brother Oliver Baxter was 8th in 12.15. He was followed by Hamish McLaren in 9th place in 12.30 and Toby Dyball was 12th in 13.14.
The first 4 boys home collectively earned themselves a team gold medal for 15 years and under; a fantastic outcome for the Bathurst road trip.
In the masters categories, Gavin Dyball was 10th in the 50-54 years event with a time of 23.44 over 4.5kms, and in the 65-69 years event, Peter Dooley clocked 21.32 and brought home the silver medal.
