Runners returned to Worrigee for round 11 of cross country on Saturday June 25th.
Malachy Martin took line honours in the 2kms in 9:56 followed by Randira De Silva in 8:00 then Winter Bell in 10:37. Isabella Mitchell was fourth in 10:29 followed by Aidan McLaren in 17:30 then Heidi McLaren in 19:32.
There were 27 competitors in the 3km event this week with the top three places going to Akala Miller, Andrew Havadjia and Steven Thomson. Darcy Davis may have crossed at the back of the field but he clocked the fastest time of 10:38. Next fastest was Cameron Baxter in 18th place with a time of 11:02. Erin Smart was the fastest female with 12:13 closely followed by Lana Crawford in 12:45.
Medium course was contested by fourteen competitors. Glen Mustapic claimed victory in 23:31 whilst Natasha Toms took second place in 31:39 and Ella Dyball made a return to cross country as the fastest female, to take third in 22:58. Ella was closely followed by dad Gavin Dyball who clocked 23:00 minutes. Nicholas McGill was 6th across the line with the fastest time of 18:05 then next fastest was Hamish McLaren in 9th place with 19:05.
The winner of long course was Glenn Sansom in 51:58 followed by Martin Bell in 47:39 then Dean Bryce in 49:48. Scott Johnson was 4th in 52:23 and Scott Martin was 5th with the fastest time of 38:56. Perry Strand was 6th in 45.46, with Rebecca Cooper as the only female runner in 7th place in 52:57. Richard Bosdyk was 8th in 59:20 and Ming Leung completed the field in 9th in 50:39.
Next week, we make the long awaited return to our beloved Hollyhill course. We look forward to seeing everyone there on our home ground.
