Cross Country Round 3 was held at Huskisson on Saturday 30th April with positive numbers.
The 1km had two competitors with Lhiam Crook crossing first followed by Will Sproule.
The 2km course was contested by ten competitors. Randira De Silva took the win in 11:50 followed by Isabella Mitchell who was the fastest female, clocking 12:12 and Winter Bell was not far behind in 12:49. Benjamin Sproule crossed in seventh place, recording the fastest time of 11:18.
There was a huge field of 31 runners in the 3km event. The winner was Geoff Crook in 18:18 whilst Elsie Procter was second in 14:39 and Tom Smart was third in 15:09. The quest for fastest on course was closely contested. Matt Reid was sixteenth in the quickest time of 13.07 whilst Macca Davis was not far behind in 13.17. Erin Smart was the fastest female, clocking 13:23 whilst Katrina Davis clocked 13:51 and Lily Sproule recorded 13:58.
Medium course had twenty two participants and Kai Thirwall led the charge home, finishing in 30:56. Next in was Mark Thirwall in 30:58 and Phillip Duncan was third in 31:59. Nicholas McGill was twenty first and clocked the fastest time of 19:31 whilst Darcy Davis, in fourteenth position, was next fastest in 19:47. Emily McLaren was fifth home and was the fastest female in a time of 23:31 and Elisha Bell was next fastest female, as she crossed in seventh place in 23:36.
Long course had just six competitors with Richard Bosdyk taking the win in 54:36. Megan Fitt was second in 1:02:06 and Dean Bryce was third in 57:18. Bradley Sawyers, in fourth place, was the fastest recording 38:37, demonstrating the ease in which he has mastered moving from medium to long course this year. Visitor Heidi Hutton was fifth in 52:21and Scott Martin rounded out the field with a time of 46:51.
It was fabulous to see so many competitors at this round of cross country. Well done to all the runners.
