Our point score component of our cross country season has almost finished.
Our last pointscore round will be at Berry on August 14.
Then we will have our Cross Country Championships, on Saturday August 21.
Last year we had the inaugural Nowra Athletics Club Cross Country Championships, introduced as a way of ending the season on a high after a covid-impacted season.
It was such a success we are holding the Cross Country Championships again this year at our premier course, Hollyhill.
We are privileged to have one of the very best cross country courses in Australia, so what better place to hold our Cross Country Championships!
As per last year, each distance will be conducted as a championship event with podium spots and medals up for grabs.
Each race will start from scratch just like it would at State XC.
Runners can step up a distance if they choose but they cannot drop back the distance they were contesting during the season if they want to be eligible for the podium places.
1km – Kids only – all receive a prize
2km – medals for 1st, 2nd & 3rd Male & Female – age capped to those turning 10 this year.
3km – medals for 1st, 2nd & 3rd Male & Female.
Medium Course – medals for 1st, 2nd & 3rd Male & Female. Open and Masters division.
Long Course – medals for 1st, 2nd & 3rd Male & Female. Open and Masters division.
Competition kicks off at normal time, from 2pm!
We hope this Championship event will inspire athletes to keep moving forward.
