Cross Country was moved to Hollyhill on Saturday 17th July to reduce the risks associated with high winds on the Longreach course. There was still a good representation of runners, braving the blustery conditions.
In the 2km event Finn Goddard was the winner in a fast time of 9.06. Winter Bell was second followed by sister Miller Bell then Malachy Martin.
In the 3km event, from a field of sixteen, Jason Hehir took the win in 16.42 followed by Oliver Baxter in 15.45. Tom Smart was third but it was Erin Smart who was the fastest on course, crossing in sixth place and clocking 15.22. Jett Goddard was not far behind in time with 15.32 in eleventh place.
Medium course saw Megan Fitt cross the line first however, first place points went to member Angela Bond. Dennis Smart took second and was the fastest over this distance, clocking 21.03 whilst Naomi Gallagher took third. Elisha Bell was the fastest female taking fifth place in 23.02.
Long course had a field of sixteen and it was Dan O’Connor who took the win in 50.07. Close on his heels was Julian Hehir who crossed in 50.15 whilst Richard Bosdyk was third in 52.59. Damian Smith was the fastest in long course, finishing in 42.11 in eighth place and Jasper Arnold was just slightly slower with 42.57 in fourth place. Once again, Rebecca Cooper clocked the fastest female time with 55.57 in fifth place.
Well done to everyone for enduring the wind gusts to complete cross country round 14.
